Have you selected the
courses you want to take? I think so. Here’s my
slip. Do you think I can take four courses? It depends on what courses you take. Let me see. Are you
sure you want to take “Introduction to Linguistics,” “Educational
Psychology,” Classroom Management” and “Introduction to Western
Literature” all in one semester? I am pretty sure I can handle. Well, I
think that might be too heavy a course load for you. |

Only the
fourth course has something to do with my major, the others are all from the
TESL program; I was thinking of changing my major. Still,
that might be too much for you, especially this is
the first semester you study here. Aren’t you supposed to take some language courses from
I’ve already taken Introduction to Western Literature when
I was an undergraduate student. I need your signature to have it exempted.
Then, I can squeeze the language courses required by the Center. Do you
have the transcript with you? |

Here you
are. That brings up another question. What are the chances for me to change
my major? As far as the school is concerned, I don’t see
any problem with that. But, are you sure that’s the way you want? It seems
to me I might have a better chance finding a job once I finish my studies
with a TESL degree. Or, you could think about getting
enrolled in Teacher’s Certificate Program. |

I would strongly suggest you to stick to your original
plan since you need time to adjust yourself to the new environment. I know it’s important
to fit in in the first place, but I am also
worrying about my future. You know, the road of literature is hard and long! But think of the sense of achievement derived from this
experience; it makes everything worthwhile! I’ll give it a thought and let you know my decision soon. |
