English Version of Tec22A
Hers(Her life) has been the limited experience of one who lives in a world without color and without sound. But ever since her student days she has had a joyous certainty that her physical handicaps were not an essential part of her being(名詞子句，作certainty的同位語), since they were not in any way a part of her mind. This faith was confirmed when she came to Descartes' maxim, " I think; therefore, I am."
These five emphatic words waked something in her that has never slept since(限制形容詞子句) She knew then that her mind could be a positive instrument of happiness, bridging over the dark, silent void with concepts of a vibrant, light-flooded happiness(現在分詞片語作形容詞用)
Because she lives in a world without sound and color, she has limited experience. Since she started her student life, she has had an optimistic conviction that her physical handicaps were not the most important part of her life and would not affect her mind. The conviction was derived from the French philosopher Descarte’s maxim, “I think; therefore, I exist.” These five significant words made her realize that she could cultivate an interest which would help her lead the dark and silent life of emptiness.
