Translate the following passage into Chinese (試譯下列短文):
Spring Is the Best Time for Study
Spring is a season of freshness and greenness. It is considered by many to be the best time in the year. The weather is mild; the day long, and the night short. The grasses and the leaves are deeply covered in green color and full of fresh fragrance. The merry birds sing cheerily. Therefore, spring is a very enjoyable time and is better than the other seasons: summer, autumn, and winter.
The weather of summer is hot, while winter is cold and dreary. Both of these seasons are not for us to study. In the time of autumn, cold winds which are not at all pleasant generally blow. But spring has none of these drawbacks; the flowers bloom, the woods and grasses grow luxuriantly. The weather is mild and the air is balmy. In fact , this season seems full of good things and better fitted to be the time for doing something.
However, most young men are apt to spend their good time in pleasure and idleness. They have no desire to study so as to widen the scope of their knowledge during this season. It seems that they do not know how valuable the spring time is.
So we students must read our lessons and do our work when spring is here. The more books we read, the better results we get. Thus, we should be bold and try hard without stopping. We must always bear in mind the Chinese proverb, “Idle young, needy old.” Moreover, we ought to know spring is not only the most precious time of our lives but the springs which we can count as ours are all too few, for the average life of man is only several tens of years.
